'02 Dodge Stratus Coupe R/T - Racing
The fact of the matter is, this is not a race car. I know
I'll get a lot of flak from other Stratus owners but, the
Stratus is too heavy, and too stylish to be a real contender.
That said - are you ready? - the Dodge Stratus can be an
exceptional sleeper race car. People don't expect it to be
as quick as it is. Guys were coming up to me and looking under
my hood after a race and wondering what I had in there. And
this was when I only had a CAI installed.
But a couple of things that were never mentioned to me before
I hit the track ...
- Racing a car will put huge stresses on it ...
- So no warranty will cover racing related failures,
- Don't get on a track unless you're prepared to repair
everything that can go wrong,
- Don't be afraid to go to a track and observe. Chat with
other drivers. Their wisdom will at least save you the embarrassment
of stupid mistakes.
