Mainly
I keep it simple when dealing with my health. Weight lifting and swimming
are my favorite fitness excersizes. I prefer free weights but admit that
lacking the proper instruction has left me a little behind on my weight
training schedule. I've made a handy spread sheet of my routine. You can
open it in MS Excel by clicking here.
I
also swim - a little under a mile at a time - in between workouts when
the mood strikes and if a lane is available. A certified life guard, my
love of the water is extended beyond the gym into my interests in water
skiing. And although I only get rare opportunities I also enjoy scuba,
and kayaking as well.
Racquetball
has been another long past-time of mine. I began playing in college and
I'm very glad to have been able to find or get my friends involved also
through the years following. Wielding my competitive sword has certainly
left a few bruises, but I get as good as I give and that's all part of
"sport." Right now I play on Saturday mornings with my friend
Mike. While we are both paired quite evenly, our matches are still exciting
and at times, exhausting.
As
a proper Xgen-er, I participate in as many of the extreme sports as my
pocket book will allow. Last year I added skydiving to my list of experiences.
Be sure to check out my skydiving page to find
out if I survived my six jumps.
In '02 I'll get my first taste of downhill skiing. Scary stuff, but honestly
my biggest concern is that I'll be able to move after 3 days on the slopes.
I have a feeling that I'll find muscles I never knew existed and that
would have rather not been used at all. :)
Where
else have I been? I've hang glided in Kitty Hawk. Been kayaking on the
Patomic. Rock climbing in Ohio. Its a fun life and considering that we
only have one to live ... I figure that it's best to experience as much
of it as possible.
